A brief video on Pax Populi Tutoring Services

Pax Populi is a network of people dedicated to advancing peace everywhere, but the focus of our work is Afghanistan.  We have several programs through which we act on our mission, but since 2010, we have placed particular emphasis on our peace through education initiative, the Pax Populi Tutoring Program. Starting in 2015, our work took a significant step forward, when we launched our own online school, Pax Populi Academy. For now, the focus of this work has been a program in which fluent English speakers from around the world provide English tutoring to students in Afghanistan via videoconferencing.  Through this exchange, both tutors and their students learn much about each other’s culture, while Afghans have an opportunity to better develop a valuable skill for engaging in international cultural and economic exchanges. As of the spring 2017, we are working with students affiliated with educational institutions in four cities in Afghanistan, Kabul, Kandahar, Mazar-e-Sharif and Herat, and we expect to add a new Afghan educational partner in the near future.  We welcome new students and tutors to participate in our school, but students need to work through one of our partner organizations to join our program. To access our school, click here.  People interested in being students or serving as tutors in our program, please contact us at info@appliedethics.org.

Since 2013, two online international initiatives we delivered were the  “Be Inspired” project which further extended our advocacy work into the promotion of Women’s Right in Afghanistan and the “Voices for Peace” project which engaged people from around the world to share their hopes and ideas for the advancement of peace in Afghanistan and internationally.

There is no limit to the ways in which people can advance peace. We focus on a few, but we are open to other initiatives and want to encourage all people to see themselves as having the capacity to contribute to building a kinder, safer, more peaceful world. This is our common mission as people.  So many of our brothers and sisters are in need.  It is up to us to lend a hand.
