Asma is from Libya, she is a peace activist and currently works for the United Nations refugee agency.

She has taken part in campaigns raising awareness for women’s rights and this year she took part in the Pax Populi “Be Inspired” Women’s Day project recording her vision for women and their human rights. In her home country Asma is a great supporter of women’s rights too, her Voices for Peace picture literates this as it was taken during her participation in a campaign to raise awareness over gender violence through wearing purple hijabs.

Asma’s ambitions include becoming a peace builder and advocate and starting a Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies this year.
