The work of Pax Populi is done almost entirely by volunteers, but we still have many expenses, such as those associated with the following:
• Pax Populi Academy — This is the online school of Pax Populi and it has been evolving and growing rapidly. We are working closely with three universities whose students serve as tutors as well as other teachers and tutors from around the world, all working with students in Afghanistan. These Afghan students are served through our partner institutions in the four largest Afghan cities, Kabul, Kandahar, Mazar-e-Sharif and Herat. The Academy is in its second iteration. The newest version has been built with the online education platform, Schoology.com. Although all our teachers and tutors are volunteers, we need to pay for the online educational platform as well as for limited administrative assistance and technical support. As our program has grown in in quality and size so have our expenses.
Other expenses include…
• Communications efforts via the web and print
• Holding events
• Office expenses such as the completion of tax returns and other paid support
We can’t buy peace, but working for peace does require financial support.
