Kelsey Jensen is an aspiring journalist and photographer, she has a keen interest in international development and spent the summer of 2012 in Afghanistan volunteering with an NGO that runs a boarding school in Kabul. Kelsey lived in Kabul for three months where she lived with and taught students from all across Afghanistan. She has since stayed in touch with her students and continues to mentor/tutor a few of them via Skype. She remains optimistic about Afghanistan’s future despite all the uncertainty of the moment, mostly due to the infectious optimism and idealism of her Afghan students and friends.

Her ambition is to work in the aid and development field, particularly on education and women’s rights, and she hopes to return to Kabul soon to participate in the peace-building process there.
